50-MILE CHAMPIONSHIP DUNEDIN RIDER’S WIN (Per Press' Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. - The South Island 50-mile road cycling championship was held on Saturday. The course was to Edendale, via Rimu and Seaward Downs and back to Invercargill along the main road. K. Baxter, a Southland rider, was first home. C. M. Hansen won the championship by securing fastest time. Hansen, a Dunedin rider, was scratch and beat his two co-markers, D. Smart and W. Clough, by a very narrow margin in a thrilling tussle.
