FORMER NAZI COMMANDER

KILLED ON POLISH FRONT SCANT BERLIN DETAILS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 25, 12 noon) LONDON, Sept. 24. General Von Fritsch has been kilted in action on the Warsaw front. Herr Hitler has ordered a State funeral. Herr- Hitler removed Him from command of the German army in February, 1938, during the spectacular reshuffle designed to tighten the Nazi grip on tiie army. General von Fritsch represented the best type of the traditional army. He was rehabilitated last June and given command of an artillery regiment in recognition of his services in reconstructing the Nazi army. Messages from Copenhagen quote statements by Berlin correspondents of Danish papers speculating as to whether General von Fritsch was in disgrace. It is pointed out that only the most scanty news is published in German papers as to what General von Fritsch was doing when he was killed. At the time of his death be was colonel in chief of the 12th artillery regiment. The German papers published the briefest of obituaries.
