A fortnight ago a radio station intercepted identifiable calls, estimated to be sent from a point from 50 to 75 miles offshore, trying to make contact with the German freighter Portland. A message from Santiago states that the Portland arrived at Coquimbo (Chile) flying the Japanese flag.
