80-MILE-AN-HOUR CHASE

POLICE ARREST DRIVER SYDNEY, Sept. 15. Police chased a car, at speeds up to 80 miles an hour, along the Pacific Highway from Hornsby towards Peat’s Ferry, yesterday, and later a 15-year-old boy was arrested. Constables McLaughlin and Carpentier, of the Police Safety Bureau, were patrolling the Pacific Highway in a police truck when they saw a carspeed past them. They went in pursuit, but the car rounded the curves m the road at such a high speed that it was soon out of sight. Later, the police saw the car returning. The driver turned into a side track, with the police in pursuit. The car was stopped and the driver was found to be a boy.
