Sept. 22, 3.10 p.m.) LONDON, Sept 21. A Budapest message says that the Warsaw, radio resumed broadcasting this evening, the Mayor stating that the Germans had bombed and demolished the Soviet Legation, capital was still holding out and its spirit was unoroken. The Warsaw broadcast stated that three brigades of polish cavalry succeeded in breaking the German ring and entered the city, reinforcing the defenders. ! A Paris communique states that the day was generally quiet on the Western Front, and uneventful. There was some •enemy artillery activity south of Saarbrucken. “Despite bad weather and anti-aircraft fire we carried out a number of reconnaissance flights,” adds the communique. A communique issued by the British Ministry of .Information states: “The British troops in France are in fine condition and good heart,” said the Secretary of State for War, Mr. L. ITore-Belisha, on returning to London after .his meeting ■qtitli the Commander of the British Expeditionary Force, General Viscount Gort, the Premier of France, 51. Daladicr and the French Commander, Marshal Gamelin. The Rome correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain says that Signor Mussolini is believed to be the author of an article in'the Popolo d’ Italia in which the democracies arc urged to accept Herr Hitler's offer to limit German expansion. It is hinted that if the offer is not accepted othci statesmen might become refugees like the former President ol Czechoslovakia, Dr. E. Benes. Italy’s military preparations ‘ which started recently are continuing.
