JAPANESE OFFENSIVES
REPULSED BY CHINESE BOMBING OF CITIES (Elec. Tel. Copyright—-United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 23, 1 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 22. The Hong Kong correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain states that the Chinese have repulsed Japanese offensives and inflicted heavy losses in Hupeh, Hunan and Kiangsi and recaptured strategic towns in the north-west Changsha. It is asserted that Japanese airmen bombed 15 cities and destroyed 1000 buildings in Loyang.
