(X ‘IaAX ’PLANT, TRIP SOUTHAMPTON, Aug. L Feeling that he would be seasick if he took the berth he had booked in the Queen Mary. Mr. Gustav Hulthen, a 47-year-old retired Swedish business man, tried to book to-day by the PanAmerican Airways Yankee Clipper on her return journey to America, but was told there were no more seats. Meanwhile Mr. W. M. G. Cluelt, an American business man. telephoned from London to say he would be delayed on his journey to Southampton to take his sent in the Clipper. The officials told Mr. Hultheu if Mr. Cluett did not arrive in time he could have bis seat. Mr. Hulthen paid his fare, £75, and waited. The Clipper left at 1.17 pan. Mr. Cluett arrived three minutes later and saw her speeding on her way to Foynes with Mr. Hulthen. He then drove to the Ocean Dock and took passage in the Queen Mary.
