NEW SCHOOLS
PLANS FOR OPOTIKI ADDITIONS AT WHAKATANE The need for a new school building at Papakura was stressed in a letter received from the school committee at a meeting of the Auckland Education Board. The committee asked that its application be included in the board’s list of most urgent works. Authority was received from the department to proceed with plans and specifications for a new building at the secondary department of the Opoliki District High School. The proposed building will be on a new site. Preliminary plans prepared by the Education Board provide for a structure of one storey containing four main class rooms as well as a laboratory, library and an arts, crafts and commercial room.
The board also adopted Mr. Milli»s recommendation that a grant be sought for the provision of two additional classrooms and a room for library and commercial purposes at the secondary department of tiie Whakatane District High School.
