MATAWHERO PIG MARKET BRISK COMPETITION Competition was brisk in the pig market at the Matawhero stock sale yesterday, when there was a yarding of 80 good quality pigs. Values showed an improvement. The number of sows offered was larger than usual and the values realised were:—One sow and litter, £5 3s: 1 sow and litter, £6; sows. £2 17s Gd to £4 ss; 3 farrows, £2 ss; 1 boar, £2; weaners, 19s to £1 3s; stores. £1 7s 6d to £1 IBs; porkers, £1 11s to £2. No slips were yarded.
