The Tauranga gelding Jayola, who broke down while contesting the Avondale Cup on Saturday, was still very lame when seen at Ellerslie on Tuesday, and it may be some time before he races again.
Winner Remaining The Avondale • Guineas winner, Beaulivre, is remaining at Avondale until the Auckland Racing Club’s spring meeting at Ellerslie next month, when he will contest the Great Northern Guineas, His slablemaje, Kathbella, accompanied by Hagen, has returned to Hastings. Win Was Due
Boloyna, who won at Ashburton on Saturday, is a brother to the Stewards’ Handicap winner, Alma. Boloyna has been placed in several recent starts and his win was not out of turn. Change of Stables
The locally-owned Gold Ballad, who recently won his way out of hack company, will in future be trained by T. Quinlivan in Hawke's Bay. The Hunting Song—Cherry Girl gelding was formerly trained by N. Davis. Lutanist Amiss
The promising three-year-old Lutanist contracted internal trouble last week, and, although there has been slight improvement in his condition in the last couple of days, it will be a long time before he Will be .fit to go into work again.
