GERMAN GUILE
BIDS FOR RIFT BRITAIN AND FRANCE ANSWER EY DALADIEE CONFIDENCE IN ALLY CENSURE OF: AGGRESSORS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 22, 1.50 p.m.) PARIS, Sept. 21.
German propaganda would never separate England and France, declared the Premier of France, M. Daladier, in a nation-wide broadcast to-day. “Frenchmen will not be duped,” ’he continued. “The whole country has risen indignantly to oppose such ciumsy attempts. There are no traitors in France, only courageous soldiers.
“We know Britain's faith from past experience. Her planes are fighting on our side and her sons are fighting in our trenches. Hundreds of millions of people of the British Empire are working in the common cause. “Show your contempt for the German propaganda by ignoring it,” he exclaimed. “I have visited the front and seen our soldiers fighting bravely. We arc not afraid of a long war and firmly believe we will conquer the enemy.”
Ho added that despite the efforts of England, America and Italy, the destruction of Poland was planned beforehand. Even now Russia and Germany were ruthlessely dividing the country. Poland had suffered terrible martyrdom and hod displayed great heroism. Her defeat was unavoidable. A secret treaty encouraged Russia to attack when Poland succeeded in holding up the first blow. Her dismemberment was 'planned beforehand, while Herr Hitler pretended that his demands were limited to the Corridor and a few motor roads. “Who now believes Herr Hitler's peaceful intentions when he just proved his violence and ruthlessness?” asked M. Daladier. “This Is his war.”
M. Daladier then quoted the long list of treaties which Germany had torn up, adding: “Herr Hitler says he asks nothing from France, • but Frenchmen know that he will not fail to try to destroy France tike Austria and Czechoslovakia. France will never allow domination by force and never allow soldiers to burn towns and kill women and children.”
