SHEEP VALUES FIRM STORES SELL BRISKLY Values for sheep generally at the Mrita’wherb stock sale to-day were muCli pit a par with those ruling at last week’s sale. In the store section the demand was brisk and hoggets showed a small advance. Beef .There was a good demand for beef. •Good station cows made £6 12s, and unfinished £4 IQs; prime Jersey cows, £5 2s and '£s 7s 6d; other Jerseys, £3 7s 6d to £4 13s; station heifers. -§6 lfs, and Jerseys £5 12s. Vealers sold at £2 15s. The individual pen prices were:— Cows:—Three, Hereford, £6 12s; .1, Hereford and Shorthorn, medium. £4 IDs; 1, prime Jersey, £5 2s; 1, hlack Jersey cross medium, £3 7s; 1, prime Jersey, £5 7s 6d; 1, good average JehsCy, £4 13s; 1, youhg Jersev, £3 7s fid. Heifers:—Three, P.A., £G 14s; 1, good Jersey, £5 12s. Vealers: —Three, Hereford Jersey, cross. £2 15s. and £1 10s. Fat Sheep The yarding of fat sheep totalled 220 and values were about the same as last week Ewes ranged from 14s 2d to IGs 4d. Shorn ewes made their first' appearance, realising from 10s to 11s 4d. Good hoggets made from 14s 9d to 16s 9d and second-grade ewes to l2s 3d. Prices:— Ewes.—Thirty-nine, 15s 3d; 17, 15s Id; ' 18, 16s Id; 14, 34s 3d; 11, 18s 4d; 7; 14s 2d; 7,14 s lOd; 6,14 s 3d. Shorn Ewes.—Eighteen, 11s 4d; 10, Us; 4,10 s. Hoggets.—Four) good Southdown, 14s 9ti; 5, ditto, TGs 9d. - ; Second-Grade Ewes.—Twenty-one, 12s 3d; 12, 9s Id; 13, Bs. Store Sheep
The Offering totalled only 750, but the sale was brisk, with hoggets improving a little. Hoggets made to 16s. fid for extra good and 15s 4d for
good, with gpocl average sorts bringing fr'6ni 12s to 13s 4d. Good ewe hoggets- sold at from 18s (id to 19s •fifj; and iewes with lambs, jo 17s for a good pen.
Store ewes sold well, the quality only being medium, with values at 7s Id to 9s 3d. Prices: —

Ewes and Lambs. —Seventeen, fairly good ewes, 12, big lambs, (p), 13s 3d: 24, in good order, ewes, and 24 good Southdown lambs, 17s; 9, ewes, some young, in good order, and 11 lambs, 15s 4d. Store Ewes.—Five, in fairly good order, 9s 3d; 11, fair to medium condition, 7s Id; 16, in fairly good order, 8s Bd.
