(Reed. Sept. 22, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 20,

The Copenhagen correspondent of Hie New York Times says that Swedish naval authorities to-night stated that the reputed sea battle was probably only Swedish artillery manoeuvers at Gothenburg.

It was reported from Copenhagen yesterday that heavy firing lasting for several hours was heard in the Kattegat, between the north-east coast of Jutland and Sweden.
