SOUTH AFRICAN PLAN £1,000,000 FOR BRITAIN (Reed. Sept. 22, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 21. The Johannesburg correspondent of The Times says that the Johannesburg City Council is sponsoring a campaign to raise £1,000,000 to dispatch local surpluses of eggs, butter, sugar and other foodstuffs to Britain free of all charges, as a gift. Assurances of support are already forthcoming from all parts of the Union.
