NEW ENROLMENTS

GISBORNE DISTRICT COAST AND COUNTRY 325 MEN FOR SERVICE 50 PER CENT PASS TESTS The total of enrolments in the Gisborne district for the special New Zealand military force, for service in the Dominion or beyond the seas, now numbers 325, the latest additions to the list being those of Coast and country volunteers who made their offers at their own centres.

Arrangements have -been made to conduct further medical boards for the examination of Class II men, namely single men between the ages of 21 and 36 years, in Gisborne to-morrow, commencing at 8.30 a.m.; in Wairoa on Thursday, commencing at 1 p.m.; and in Tolaga Bay on Saturday, commencing at 9 a.m. Only single men in the age group stated will be considered for the time being, as there is every prospect of securing the necessary quotas without trefiching upon the married men or upon age groups under 21 years and over 36.

Up to to-day, the medical and dental officers have passed about 50 per cent of those offering themselves for examination, and a large number of those not accepted at the first examination are men who suffer trifling ailments which can be put right in short order.
