GERMAN WARSHIP

HEIGHTS OF GDYNIA BELEAGURED GARRISON SHORT OF AMMUNITION WAIT FOR ASSISTANCE (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Pres.' Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 20, noon.) LONDON, Sept. 19. The Berlin correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain says that the warship Schleswig Holstein opened fire from Danzig harbour upon the heights above Gdynia which still have not surrendered, but the absence of reply indicated that the Poles were short of ammunition.

Between 2000 and 3000 defenders in the vicinity of Gdynia maintain the fight against superior forces on the Oblosz heights to the west of the town and also the village of Ochshoeft, “waiting,” as captives said, “for the British to arrive.”
