WAR RISK DISPUTE

STEAMERS HELD UP STALEMATE CONTINUES (Reed. Sept. 20, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 19. Six American merchantmen are still held up by the war risk dispute, and the stalemate continues. Sixty-one members of the crew of one ship were charged with refusing the master's orders. Two gave evidence that they believed the ship was loaded with some munitions. A message from Rotterdam states that the Holland-America liner Nieuw Amsterdam, with 1300 passengers, was held up by the crew striking for increased wages, due to the war dangers, which the company refused.
