BOXING TITLE
LOU NOVA CONFIDENT SE EKING I-GUI -S’ OR OWN Lou Nova, who' firmly believes that he will dethrone Joe Louis from his heavyweight position, is a Yogi, states an American writer. On good authority I am told that a Yogi is one who thinks profoundly about beautiful things, and who does not eat meat. The Yogi also squats on the floor like a Buddha. Only the last-named habit seems to fit in with a contender for Louis' title. One thing is certain, however, about Nova, continues the writer. He is undisputed Yogi heavyweight champion. I gathered from our conversation that Nova regards his fight with Galento as one of those annoying formalities that the next world's heavyweight champion must contend with. He regards himself as “The White Hope” and a man of destiny. He was patient with me when I pressed him for reasons for his confidence. Said Nova: “I firmly .believe that every few years brings forth a man of destiny. You remember that at one time Dempsey looked unbeatable. Then along came Tunney—a man of destiny—to take the title from him. Tunney retired ‘undefeated. Like Tunney, I am a man of destiny, and I. 100, will retire undefeated.”
