PORT OF GISBORNE TO-DAY'S ARRIVALS Pakura, m.v., 4.10 a.in.. 710 tons. C. W. Coldicutl, from Wellington. VESSELS DUE AT GISBORNE Margaret W.. Auckland, to-morrow. Kopa.ra, Auckland. Friday. Karitane, Grey mouth and Westport, September 25. Pukeko. Auckland, September 25. COASTAL TRADE The Wainui is expected to clear Napier to-day for Wellington, where she is due on Friday. The vessel proceeds later to South Island ports to load again for Gisborne and Napier. The Karitane, which is loading at Wc-sl. Coast ports for Napier and Gisborne, is expected to leave Westport to-dav. Tiie steamer has coal, timber and pests for this port and i's due here about Monday next. The Pakura reached Gisborne early this morning from Wellington and was to sail about 1 p.m. for Waikokopu. Napier, Lyttelton and Wellington. The ship loads at Lyttelton on Saturday and at Wellington on Monday' for Nattier, Waikokopu, Gisbotne and the Coast.
The Kcpara loads at Auckland today for Coast bays, Gisborne and Napier. The ship is to discharge here on Friday.
The Margaret W. left Auckland at 10 p.m. yesterday for Gisborne. The vessel arrives here to-morrow morning and sails the same day for Tolaga Bay, Tokomaru Bay and Auckland.
The Pukeko is now expected to load at Portland on Friday and at Auckland on Saturday lor Gisborne and Napier. The ship is to discharge at Gisborne on Monday.
LARGEST SWEDISH-BUILT VESSEL
A/B Gotavcrken, Gothenburg, have launched the largest vessel ever built in Sweden. Named Bern, she is for Rederi A/B Transmark, and is a tanker of 16,500 tons dw. Her principal dimensions arc: Length overall 5.1911.; breadth moulded 66ft., depth moulded. 39ft. 9in., and draught 29ft. Gin.. Her propelling machinery will consist ol a two-stroke double-acting six-cylin-der Diesel of 3300 i.h.p., and her speed fully loaded will be 141 knots.
TANKER NEW ZEALAND
The Norwegian tanker New Zealand broke down on her last voyage from Dunedin to Los Angeles, according to advice received from Sydney, and drifted for three days off the Californian coast. A tug was dispatched to her assistance and towed her into Los Angeles, where she was placed in dock. A faulty valve caused the vessel to lose hoi 1 vie*l supply.
