PRISONERS OF WAR
RED CROSS COMMITTEE WATCH OVER WELFARE (British Official Wireless.) Rccd. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 18. It is reported from Berne that in compliance with the 1929 convention concerning the treatment of prisoners of war, the International Red Cross Committee at Geneva has established a central office for such prisoners which will be conducted on the same lines as that established in the war of 1914-18. . The new office will be developed in accordance with the needs and requirements of the different Governments and the Red Cross organisations of the belligerent nations.
