POLISH ARMY IN FRANCE
THOUSANDS VOLUNTEER GENERAL ANNOUNCED (Reed. Sept. 18, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 17. The Paris correspondent of the New York Times states that Polish organisations are sponsoring the formatior of a Polish army in France with the co-operation of the French Government. There are tens of thousands o! volunteers from 500,000 Poles throughout France, but it is announced that the Poles will be mobilised in the same way as the French nationals.
Thousands of volunteers are expected from among the 1,000,000 Polei resident in Belgium, Holland, Britain America and Canada. The army wil be an autonomous unit with its own command co-operating with the French General staff. The equipment and organisation will be identical with those of the French army. The commander will 'be General Burhard Bukacki. Colo-ml January Grzedzin ski a former aviator and former aid' to Marshal Piisudski, is directing the organisation and training.
