The Chungking correspondent of the New York Times says that Marshal Chiang Kai-Shek, in his first public speech on foreign affairs since the outbreak of the European war, said: — “Despite the European war, China must carry out a fixed policy of armed resistance to Japanese aggression. “The European war will make us fight more vigorously, since we are confident of ultimate victory and China’s rightful place in shaping a new world order.” He added that China’s present military strength,, compared with that at the outbreak of the Chinese-Japanese war, was more than doubled. FLIGHT BY HITLER.' (Reccl. Sept. 19, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 15. A message from Berlin says HenHitler's headquarters announce that Herr Hitler made a long flight over the German front and saw troops on the march north of Przemysl. He flew over Upper Silesia, where he observed “chimneys smoking throughout a peaceful countryside. He saw Cracow, which was also unharmed.”
He then watched two GermanAustrian divisions crossing the San River.
