Highway Improvements
Preparation of the metal 'base to take tar-sealing on the RotoruaWhakatane main highway on the Rotoma Hill, and the section of road flanking the lake, has been taken in hand by the Public Works Department and permanent surfacing probably will be undertaken during the coming summer season. When that work has been completed, the road will be practically unrecognisable to motorists vvho have not travelled over if for the past three or four years, as the alignment has 'been altered to a major degree, eliminating a number of bends and easing the grade to make the route a first-class highway.
