Tlu: postponed boxing match between Tony Galcnto and Lou Nova for the right to meet Joe Louis m a world title bout next year resulted in a victory for the Italian. Nova was defeated on a technical knock-out in the fourteenth round. The referee stopped the most bloody battle of years after Nova had been floored twice in what was detained to be the final round. Galenic opened a cut over Nova's left eye in the second round and made the wound a target on every opportunity for the rest of the tight. The American was also sent to the floor in the third and eighth rounds. In a toe-to-toe battle Galento’s twofisted attack had Nova in difficulty from tiie start, the latter winning only one round. This was the first knock-out of Nova's career, although he was a 7 to 2 favourite.
