NEWSPAPER RAID
INSTRUCTION TO POLICE
QUESTION IN HOUSE
(Reed. Sept. 18. 10 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. Hi.
Mr. H. Graham White (Lib., Birkenhead.) has given notice in the House of Commons of a question to the Home Secretary, Sir John Anderson, who instructed the police to enter newspaper offices on September 11 and remove copies of newspapers already printed.
This is a sequel to charges of Min istry of Information confusion.
The Cardiff branch of the National Union of Journalists, the largest in Wales, indignantly passed a resolution that Ministry of Information posts arc occupied by non-journalists, when highly-trained journalists are unemployed. The resolution deplored the fact that journalists who are the media of information in peace-time should be deprived of a livelihood by non-journalists in war-time.
