Aberdeen Angus and Herehrds TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY The annual Combined Breeders’ Sale of Aberdeen Aligns and Hereford bulls will be hold on. Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, commencing with the offering of S 3 Aberdeen Angus bulls on Tuesday and followed by 108 Herefords on Wednesday. Many of the leading studs in I lie district are represented in the catalogue, and the drafts are reported to lie coining forward in excellent order. Strains*that have become famous throughout New Zealand and Australia are represented in the offerings.
Te Ruanui Slv.it An interesting feature of the Te Ruanui Aberdeen Angus Stud offering will be that progeny of Qualatum Isth of Tautnuo will be coming on o the market for the first time this year. Qualatum 15th of Tautanc secured the high honour of supreme champion of all beef breeds at the Poverty Bay Show last year, and for two years in succession he won the Aberdeen Angus Association's cup for the best animal of the breed. Eighteen of the bulls on offer are from this sire, and in vicw_ of his record in the Show ring much interest will be attached to the fale of his progeny. The total offering from Te Ruanui Stud will 'be 25, all two-year-old purebred bulls. Opou Station The run bulls from the Opou Station’s Aberdeen Angus herd have created much interest since they have been offered for public auction of recent years, and next week there will be an increased entry, a total of 27 having .been catalogued. This herd was established in 1507 mainly tor private use, but the extension of the herd made b passible to make available both registered and unregistered bulls for sale every year. This .herd has n high reputation, and infused in it is the blood of nine sires imported from Scotland and two from Canada. Wiler.rofe Polled Herefortls The Wileneole Polled Hereford:; arc rich in American blood; this was the first stud of the breed established in New Zealand. The progeny have been distributed widely over New Zealand and Australia. Mr. Humphreys suffered a severe loss early this year in the death of Royal Gem, the original Polled Hereford sire imported to the Dominion, after nine seasons of service. His progeny won 14 championships in New Zealand, including three at Royal Shows.
