Dr. J. Alex Doctor will return to Wellington next week after an extended tour abroad, during which he visited the East Indies, South Africa, Europe and North America. Mr. A. E. Thiekett. Royal Engineers, son of Mr. J. 11. Thiekett, Parakura, lias ob'ained an lionqurs degree in the mechanical sciences tripos at Cambridge University.
An engagement is announced between Douglas James, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Maxwell, and. Sheilagh Rosalee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T, Brosnahan, formerly of Gisborne.
