CZECHOSLOVAKIAN ARMY
ORGANISATION IN FRANCE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT (Reed. Sept. 15, 11.30 a.m.) PARIS, Sept. 14. The Czechoslovak army, now being formed in France, will be composed of Czech nationals living in France and elsewhere. It will not. include either the Foreign Legion or a voluntary corps as in the last war, but will rank as an Allied army, because the democracies have not recognised juridically Germany’s occupation of Czechoslovakia.
The new army will have have its own command and general headquarters under the supreme command of France exercised through the French Military Mission and headed by General Faucher, who many years ago held a similar position in Prague, as political representative. This army will form, a provisional Czechoslovak Government, whose recognition Britain and France will consider presently. Czech nationals living abroad have chosen its members, including Dr. E. Benes, the former President of Czechoslovakia, as Prime Minister, and M. Osusky, ex-Czech Minister to France, as Foreign Minister.
