HOOKER REPLACED

INJURY TO ANDERSON REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY POVERTY BAY FIFTEEN Owing to an injured ankle, the Poverty Bay representative hooker, Chi-is Anderson, will 'be unable to take his place in the Rugby representative team to play Wairoa at the Oval to-morrow and his place in the front row will be taken by G. Shanks, of Old Boys. The loss of Anderson to the team will be a severe one, but, as a specialist hooker, Shanks is a better lake than the Marist player and can be relied upon to give the backs a good share of the ball. Shanks was originally included as an emergency and his place in the reserves has been taken by C. McGrannachan (Marist).

The Poverty Bay team is as follows: Backs, B. Malone (Celtic), A. Read (Old Boys), A. I. McAneney (Celtic), P. Haisman (Old Boys), T. Smiler (Marist), W. Morrison (H. 5.0.8.); forwards, R. Rogers (Celtic), G. Phillips (Old Boys), captain, V. Kutia (H. 5.0.8.), F. N. Twigg (Old Boys), W. Johnstone (H. 5.0.8.), J. A. Shanks (Old Boys), G. King (Waikohu); emergencies, W. Robertson (Waikohu), C. McGrannaehan (Marist), forwards, M. Sharp (Old Boys), W. Hoy (Marist), J. Short (H. 5.0.8.), backs. The team will assemble at the Gisborne Hotel at 1.30 p.m. to-morrow.
