LONDON, Aug. 3. A year ago most of the inhabitants of Pontardawe, near Swansea, were idle and only a few steel workers were in employment. To-day, the last 180 unemployed men were told that they would be required for the Bryn Tin Plate Works which are reopening after 16 months of idleness. With all the industries in the area now working at full capacity, men from neighbouring' districts are being called in to complete the personnel.
