WAR EMERGENCY FUND FUNCTIONS AI i ANDONED The executive committee of the Poverty Bay Federation of Women's Institutes met in the Y.M.C.A. rooms on Friday, there being present Mrs. R. H. Wick,steed, chairman, Mesdames W. A. McCliskie, J. C. Mazengarb, K. Allen, D. J. Cumming, A. Barrow. 11. Hansen, If. L. Twistleton, C. V. Smith, and the secretary, Mrs. W. A. Wright. A report was received from Mesdames McCliskie and Wright, representatives on the Women’s Representative Committee. It was decided unanimously to donate £lO to the war emergency fund of the central committee, and to request individual institutes to assist with this fund.

It was decided to postpone the halfyearly council meeting, which was to have been held in Ruatoria in October, and also to abandon the Paddy’s, Market, institutes to be requested to hold individual efforts in their own areas.

Mesdames R. Sherratt, V. T. C. Savage, W. A. McCliskie, and R. Keiha were appointed to select articles from the institutes for the Centennial Exhibition. An appeal is to be made from Mrs. Wickstced for members to carry on their efforts, as the organisation has been placed at the disposal of the Government, and every member will be required to “do her bit.”
