TE REINGA NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) Mrs. C. I. Walker, and family, who were the guests of Mrs. A. T. Hookey, Whitaker street, Gisborne, have returned to Pohaturoa station. —Miss E. Pipi, of the staff of the Te Reinga Native School, spent her vacation with her parents, Whareponga.
Mr. Mildon, metal contractor, Wairoa, has commenced surfacing of the Wairoa-Cook County boundary and already lias covered an area Of the highway extending to the local school. It is understood that his contract covers from Te Reinga to the Opotiki bridge.
A shower of rain early in ihe week lias been beneficial to the pastures, ’though water for household purposes is not plentiful, many of the tanks still being very low.
