Shining Cuckoo Heard

The .shining cuckoo, an early spring visitor to Auckland, has made his appearance at Titirangi, and during the past week has been heard in that district several times. The first report was on September 1, and since then the shining cuckoo has been heard nearly every day, especially in the early mornings. Although the first days of September are unusually early for the visitor, it was recorded a few years ago on August 28.
