RISE OF 15 PER CENT

FRENCH INCOME TAX ' SERVICEMEN AFFECTED (Reed. Sept. 11, 11 a.m.) PARIS, Sept. 9. It is officially stated that men between 18 and 49 years must contribute 4 pei' cent of their incomes to the French War Budget from October 1, 1940, and non-servicemen of similar ages 15 per cent from October 1, 1939. Industrial and commercial profits and professional incomes will be taxed 15 per cent. The French Government has taken control of foreign, exchange and exports and also capital and gold.
