IMPALED ON DOOR HANDLE

GIRL SERIOUSLY INJURED SYDNEY. Sept. 2. Barbara Fawns, aged 9, of Parramatta road, Auburn, was impaled on the handle of the door of a motor car yesterday, and a large wound was torn in the side of her body. Police have been informed that ihc girl was riding a push bicycle along Parramatta road, Auburn, near her home, when she is believed to have swerved in front of a motor car. Before the driver could stop the car struck the bicycle. As the girl was falling the handle of the car door tore through her clothing and ripped a hole about six inches long in her body. Parramatta Ambulance rushed her to the St. Joseph’s Hospital, where an operation was immediately performed. Her condition is serious.
