M.P. ON HORSEBACK

CONSERVING BENZINE SCHOOL FUNCTION VISIT . (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Mr. H. S. S. Kyle, M.P. for Riccarton, is “doing his bit” towards conserving the country’s petrol supplies. On Saturday afternoon he arrived on horseback at Spreydon School where he opened a new dental clinic.

During the ceremony the chairman of the school committee, Mr. L. pitfort, said that he was speaking at a disadvantage, but it would show the need of a dental clinic —he was without his dentures

Mr. Kyle followed this up by apologising for appearing in riding breeches. He was without petrol.
