SATURDAY’S GAMES KIRK CIJP FINAL TIE Matches for Saturday, under the auspices of the Poverty Bay Football Yssociation, will include the Kirk "up final tie, between Mercantile ,nd Territorials, and a friendly game jetween- Eastern Union and Thistle. The former match will be played on ■Jo. 1 ground at 2,45 n.m., with Mr. F. .Voods as referee; and the Eastern v. Thistle game will be on No. 2 ground, it the same time, and with Mr. J. Taylor as the referee. Messrs. J. Easton and V. Cusach are the reserve referees nominated by the executive. The skipper of the Wellington "eprcsentative team which won the J. T. Hill Shield last week, has remained in Gisborne temporarily, and may take the field in the friendly game between Eastern and Thistle. This player, J. Shankie, was one of the outstanding figures in the Hill Shield game between Wellington and Poverty Bay, and his presence in Saturday’s match should add to. its interest.
