GERMAN PRESS SILENT

WAR ON WESTERN FRONT JUBILATION OVER. POLAND (Reed. Sept. 8, noon.) LONDON, Sept. 7. Reuters’ correspondent in Brussels says that the German public is still ignorant of the operations on the western front. German newspapers are filled with jubilant articles about the progress of their troops in Poland. Britain’s activity thus far is represented in a number of isolated actions, all of which, according to the German version, apparently violate International Law. French operations are not mentioned. The press is noticeably friendly to France.
