WAR-TIME FARMING

INTERESTS OF SOLDIERS PROPOSED ORGANISATION. SUPPORT IN WAIROA (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day., Reference to a meeting held in Waipukurau recently to form a committee to look after the farms of those who might be called upon to serve their country was made by Mr. T. M. Con>nell at the annual meeting of the Wairoa Ag-icultural and Pastoral Society yesterday. Mr. Connell pointed out that the question was a very important one, and, in his opinion, if the young Anen knew that some organisation was in operation for the purpose of looking after their interests here, it would help considerably. He suggested that the question was one that should be brought before the notice of the Emergency Precautions Committee. Mr. H. Crichton stated that he would bring the question before the committee. The president of the society, Mr. A. T. Carroll, said that the question was a very important one indeed.
