OPINIONS OF GERMANS TOURIST’S IMPRESSION (Reed. Sept, 8. 9 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 6. Mr. L. Mullally, an Irishman, who returned to England from Germany yesterday, said he was in Cologne when British planes dropped, propaganda leaflets, and although an airraid warning was sounded, the German Air Force took no action. He added that he was told by Germans that they expected the war against Poland to be over in three weeks, and Nazi officials were determined not to be the first to attack on the Western Front.
The people had been getting butter since the start of the war,. possibly to make them think there was no food shortage in Germany. Women and children in many big towns in western Germany had been evacuated. r -
