WOMEN’S DIVISION
TOLACA BAY BRANCH (Herald Correspondent.) Practically a full quota of members of the Tolaga Bay branch of the Womens’ Division of the Farmers Union assembled in the Parish Hall, Tolaga Bay, for their monthly meeting. The local members welcomed -.0 ladies front the Gisborne branch. To both the president, Mrs. Macdonald, and the secretary, Mrs. H. C. Fraser, Mrs. Randall Sherratt, the Gisborne president, presented a charming bouquet, conveying with the gift the best wishes from the Gisborne branch, Mrs. Sherratt gave a very interesting and instructive address, enlightening the members as to the many useful activities of the union at the Dominion conference and also of ihe many important problems still to be faced.
Mrs. Hewitson, another Gisborne member, also spoke, dealing with the great need there was t 6 have the organisation well directed and well balanced. She stressed how important it was in the present emergency to make strenuous efforts to compile tabulated lists of voluntary workers who could be called upon when needed. In between talks, Mesdames Bullard and McCullock, with Miss Moore as accompanist, sang several solos.
