MORERE NEWS

FUNERAL OF MRS. STEELE (Eurald Correspondent.) The internment of the late Mrs. Gordon Steele took place ill the Morere cemetery on Wednesday. A service was held in the Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. C. E. Hyde, Wairoa. The church was filled, there being representatives from the whole district, both European and Maori. The casket was borne to the graveside by Mr. A. T. Glcnny, Morere: Messrs’. J. T. Begley, R. Gilmore, P. D. Sullivan, J. Watt and F. H. Young, Null aka. A short service was conducted at the graveside. Miss Steed presided at the organ. The casket was covered with a large number of beautiful floral tributes. Among which were those from.— The Omana Settlement, Nuhaka Returned Soldiers' Association, A. and P. Society, Anglican Guild, Maori Anglican Church Committee, Nuhaka Public School, Women’s Institute, Girls’ Life Brigade and Morere Public School.
