GERMAN CREW SHIP LOST IN ATLANTIC (Reed. Sept. 7, 9 a.m.) LONPON, Sept. 6. The Monte Video correspondent of The Times says that , the Britisl Legation stales that the captain and crew of the Olinda, the German freighter which, it was reported yesterday, H.M.S. Ajax had sunk in the South Atlantic, have given a pledge not to participate in the war. The captain expressed gratitude for the manner in which he and th e crew had been treated aboard the British steamer San Gerardo. The captain of the Olinda reported that the Ajax captured and sank the freighter five hours after Britain declared war. The master and crew were taken to Monte Video by the tanker which picked them up from the boats after the Ajax had forced them to abandon the ship. A report received by the Associated Press of America stated that the Olinda was captured, but was not sunk.
