BUS EARNINGS HIGHER

FORTNIGHTLY FIGURES 'Municipal bus earnings during the fortnight •ended August 27 weie nearly Id per mile higher than during the corresponding period last year, according to a report submitted to the Gisborne Borough Council by the Ibus manager, Mr. K. G. Bail. On a running of (1024 miles, the earnings average 13.8 d per mile, compared with 12.38 d over 5901 miles a year ago. Passengers carried during the past fortnight totalled 30,554, compared with 28,600 last year.
