G, 2 p.m.) LONDON. Sept, 5. Paris reports a Polish radio announcement that Polish planes bombed Berlin and returned to Warsaw without loss. A Polish war communique issued in Paris says that a whole Polish cavalry brigade has entered Bast Prussia. A communique issued in Warsaw states that an effective, Polish counter-attack took place against Berman mechanised units in southern Poland near Bieradz. The Germans left behind a large number of tanks and lorries and a considerable number of prisoners were taken. The Polish News Agency in Warsaw reports intense bombing at Tczew, Thorn (or Torun), Katowice, Bydgoszcz, Cracow and Warsaw. Planes dived and machine-gunned peasants on their farms and roadsides. The raiders dropped 20011). bombs in a cemetery in a suburb of Warsaw where villagers were burying the victims of Friday’s air raids. Berlin reports that the German forces, crossing the Vistula at Gurdziadz, penetrated 12 miles to .the south-east. There is no news in Berlin of German casualties. Notification to relatives s not yet permitted.'. The Germans claim that four Polish bombers, two fighters and nine other types of planes were brought down at Lodz. It is officially claimed in ■ Berlin that no German parachute infantry so far have been landed behind the Polish lines. The statement adds: “The Poles must have shot or executed German flyers who were forced to land, which is a flagrant violation of international law.” v ' The special correspondent of the Associated Press of America with the German eastern army says that a general round-up of civilian males old enough to bear arms in the conquered sections of. Silesia has been ordered because of persisfent civilian sniping. A sudden burst of shooting from v houses at Czestochowa, killed a captain, several lieutenants and a number of privates. Sniping was resumed this morning and 30 persons were arrested.
