SOCIOLOGIST'S DEATH
'professor westermark (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Pruii Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 6, 9 a.m.) HELSINGFORS, Sept. 4. A famous sociologist, Professor Edward Alexander Westermarck died to-day. Professor Westermarck was a Finnish philosopher and sociologist, born 77 years ago. He was professor emeritus of philosophy at the academy of Abo, and was also professor of sociology, at the University of London from 1907 tb 1930. lie was the author of several works, including some on marriage and social subjects.
