ROUND-UP IN SYDNEY

GERMANS AND AUSTRIANS TAKEN TO COUNTRY GAOLS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 5, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 5. Police and military officers overnight and early this morning carried out a round-up oi Germans and Austrians for internment in country gaols. Those taken mostly submitted quietly. Others were sullen. They seemed to anticipate the round-up. A few were resentful, and possessed revolvers and considerable sums of money. The police had the fullest information of the activities and movements of those with pronounced Nazi tendencies compiled from departmental dossiers.
