FAMOUS CRICKET CLUB

The yearly report of the South Melbourne Cricket Club, presented to ‘the seventy-seventh annual meeting last week, contained a complete history of the club. Records were compiled of performances of all players with the first eleven since 1862. The compilation necessitated two years’ research on the part of the clui’o secretary. Among the club’s players who became famous figures in the cricket world were G. H. S. Trott, A, E. Trott, J. W. Trumlble, W. H. Cooper, J. F. Giller, A. Tarrant, J. E. Slight, Dr. E. A. Barrett, Dr. J. E. Barrett, and, coming to relatively recent times, W. W. Armstrong, W. Woodfull, IC. Grimmett, L. iHasselt and Dr. R. L. Park.
