Dominion Supports Great Britain DECLARATION BY NATION’S LEADERS Dark Day in the History of the World (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. An official notification of the British declaration of Avar on Germany is contained in an Extraordinary Gazette issued at 3.30 n.m. to-day. The document states: — “His Excellency the Governor-General, has it in command from. His Majesty the King to declare that a state of war exists between His Majesty and the Government of the German Reich, and that such a state of war .has existed from 9.30 p.m., New Zealand standard time, on the third day of September, 1939. The. proclamation is signed by the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, and the Acting Prime Minister, flic lion. P. Fraser.
