The Army Department announces that offers of service from members of the public have increased to such an extent that the pressure of dealing with inquiries is unnecessarily heavy. It asks will members of the public please refrain from telephoning or calling personally at the army headquarters or any defence office unless on official business. The territorial force is completely orgauised and ready, but there has been no necessity to call it up for service. Men who still wish to offer their services in the National Military Reserve arc requested to apply in the normal way at the nearest post office.
